Ubisoft‘s not-so-secret Assassin’s Creed sequel (thanks to some leaks from Game Informer) has finally revealed as they premiered the trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3.

Assassin’s Creed 3 will now shift its focus to the 18th Century North Amercia, during the Revolutionary War between the 13 American Colonies and the British Crown, so you can expect fighting alongside George Washington. The new character in AC3 is Ratohnhaké:ton (pronounced as Ra-doon-ha-gay-doo’) or you can just call him Connor; a half Native American half English Assassin and the descendant of Altair and Ezio. The trailer shows a new style of exploring areas, instead of buildings, you will be jumping around trees.

The combat is somewhat new, as the Assassin will be using more on tomahawks in eliminating his targets. Aside from the combat, Ubisoft will be using a new engine for this engine; called Ubisoft-AnvilNext, which will promise to be a breakthrough in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence.

This will be the most expansive Assassin’s Creed game to date, as stated by Yves Guillemot; CEO at Ubisoft, “Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel ofAssassin’s Creed III.”

Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 31, 2012 and a Wii U version is already in the works.
