In a recent press event, Disney has unveiled their upcoming launch of Disney Infinity 3.0

Disney hosted a press event to promote their upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0 game at the Makati Shangrila Hotel last August 20, 2015. A select number of bloggers and media were present to witness the reveal.

The latest version of Disney Infinity will feature more characters from the Disney movies as well as from a select number of Marvel superheroes and supervillains and the inclusion of the Star Wars franchise to the line-up.

For starters, Disney Infinity is a game where you can use any Disney Infinity figures to unlock that specific character and become playable in the game, and the figures are quite detailed that they can be also a collector’s item, a toy and game combination that became popular after the release of Activision’s Skylanders game franchise.

Disney Infinity Producer Jason Moffitt was present during the press event to discuss more on the features of 3.0, some of these include the new Play sets that are included in the Starter packs and separate Play set packs where it features a story-driven and multi-level campaign. Some confirmed Play sets include Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic featuring Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano (Episode I-III) and Rise Against the Empire featuring Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia (Episode IV-VI), in addition there will be Disney themed Play sets including the new Inside Out movie and other characters such as Mickey & Minnie, Tron’s Sam Flynn & Quorra, Mulan, Olaf and the new Marvel Play sets featuring the Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron. Plus there will be more Play sets to be revealed soon, including based on Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack includes

• 1 Disney Infinity 3.0 video game software
• 2 Star Wars figures: Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker
• 1 Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition Base
• 1 Star Wars™: Twilight of the Republic Play Set piece
• 1 Web Code card (unlocks content for PC/mobile)
• SRP: PHP 2,999.00

Disney Infinity also has a feature called the Toy Box mode where players can choose from different gameplay features, from platforming to racing to dungeon crawling. Players can even create their own world in Toy Box mode where they also summon sidekicks to help on their adventure, you can even use different characters from different Play sets that are restricted when playing the campaign in the Play set.

All figures and Power Discs from the 1.0 and 2.0 editions of Disney Infinity will be compatible with Disney Infinity 3.0 in the enhanced Toy Box

A couple of videos were shown at the press event showing the upcoming Play sets for Star Wars, Marvel and Disney, as well as a playable demo for the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play set. The media were also able to marvel at the Disney Infinity figures on display at the event, ranging from the 1.0 series up to the upcoming 3.0 line-up, they were able to try out the game itself from the PlayStation 4 consoles being set a demo units.

Jason Moffitt also announced the Disney Infinity 3.0 will have Star Wars Saga Starter Pack for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation, where will include the following items:

• Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition video game software
• Star Wars™ Twilight of the Republic Play Set piece, (1) Ahsoka Tano figure, (1) Anakin Skywalker figure
• Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set piece, (1) Luke Skywalker figure, (1) Princess Leia figure
• Boba Fett figure
• Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition base
• Web Code card (unlocks content for PC/mobile)

Also the Star Wars Limited Edition PlayStation 4 will also include the Disney Infinity 3.0 bundle along with 4 digital game codes for select classic Star Wars games, and not to mention a badass custom themed Darth Vader PS4, but no details if it will get a local release.

In a Q&A portion, we asked if there is a possibility for some classic Disney morning cartoon characters to be immortalized in Disney Infinity in the future, although there won’t be any release for 3.0, Disney might consider in the future, other questions from the media also include if there would be a collaboration project with Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts series, Jason mentioned that at the recent D23 Expo, an exclusive Power Disc was given away at the event which unlocks the King Mickey costume from the Kingdom Hearts series, and you can acquire the Keyblade as an Ultimate Unlock if you unlock all Disney Infinity characters in the game’s Hall of Heroes.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is available for the PlayStation®4, PlayStation®3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U™, PC, iOS, Android will arrive in your nearest local game retail stores on August 30, 2015. Some of the game retailers such as iTech are having a special preorder promo, when you preorder the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack of Star Wars Saga Bundle, you can get a free Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars figure and keychain.
