ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ultimate stage of the ROG OC Showdown 2015 Formula Series that invites enthusiast overclockers from around the world to compete to win kudos and great prizes. ASUS ROG motherboards and graphics cards are the most popular choice for overclockers as tracked by HWBOT, so the challenge puts the world’s favorite overclocking gear at the center of the global stage.

In co-operation with HWBOT and partners Intel®, HyperX®, Enermax and Thermal Grizzly, round three of OC Showdown 2015 Formula Series launches today and runs until 7th December 2015. Formula series invites overclockers to compete using an ASUS-branded motherboard, and to cool using only stock air- or water-based equipment.

No extreme-cooling equipment or techniques are permitted in Formula Series competition rounds, and overclockers of all abilities are invited to enter. Contestants are encouraged to broadcast their results and comments on both Twitter and Facebook using the #OCShowdown hashtag, and to follow ASUS ROG on Twitter — @ASUS_ ROG.

Accessible overclocking for global kudos and extreme prizes

OC Showdown 2015 Formula’s third and final round will appeal to anyone with overclocking ambitions, from enthusiasts to first-time tweakers. To ensure a level playing field for all entrants only traditional air- or water-cooling rigs are allowed, meaning off-the-shelf equipment that can be purchased, installed and operated by anyone — regardless of experience. The chosen cooling apparatus must be attached to a system built with an ASUS-branded motherboard.

This ultimate round is divided into three accessible-but-challenging stages, with contestants required to measure their overclocking successes with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU), Realbench and HWBOT x265 Benchmark. Exciting prizes for winners, including unique award for overall champion
