Time to raise the flags one last time.

The action-packed, yet surprisingly emotional ride that is Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans will soon bid its farewell as the date for the final episode is officially decided, together with a special event that will celebrate the series finale.

Now down to its last 3 episodes, IBO will see the end of its series run this coming April 2, and together with it, a special screening is being prepared by Sunrise and Bandai, complete with a live reading by series writer, Mari Okada, and with the main VA cast of IBO present which will include Kengo Kawanishi, the voice of series protagonist Mikazuki Augus, Yoshimasa Hosoya which voices Orga Itsuka, Hisako Kanemoto, which is the voice behind one of the main protagonist’ love interest Atra Mixta, and Masaya Matsukaze, the voice behind the vengeful Vidar or, in his previous life, Gaelio Bauduin.

While fans are already expecting how the end of the line for this great series might be, we may still be in for any surprise that Okada, and series director Tatsuyuki Nagai might have in store for us as we soon witness one last battle.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans was first launched back in Oct 2015, and was widely well received for its easily likable characters, good, albeit a little inconsistent, story pacing, retention of some of the classic Gundam appeals, and of course, the glorious and bloody metal-to-metal action. After its final run, the series will have a total of 50 episodes, although there are those who hoping that we get to see more IBO through the form of OVAs and Film adaptations.

So, if anyone saw my video reviewing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. You would all know that I’m quite a fan of Vanillaware’s work. Odin’s Sphere, Grim-well, not that. Though Muramasa, Dragon’s Crown, and of course 13 Sentinels have a special place in my heart. That and the...
