Looks like Atlus will be very busy this year up until 2012, as they are preparing to release a ton of Persona games in the market.

First up will be the remake of Persona 2: Innocent Sin (there are actually two Persona 2 games that were released to the PlayStation, the other one was Persona 2: Eternal Punishment) that is scheduled to release this September 20, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable. Persona 2: Innocent Sin was not released to the Western market and this will be the first time the game will be played in English translation* (*Note: there was a fan translated version of the game for the PlayStation)

The game will feature improved user interface, new difficulty level, new character portraits plus new and arranged soundtracks.

Another Persona remake is being developed for the upcoming PlayStation Vita portable console, and this time it will be Persona 4; dubbed as Persona 4: The Golden. This was announced a few days ago from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. Persona 4: The Golden will feature more animation scenes, more character voiceovers, a new character named Marie and multiplayer assistance where you can send messages via 3G and Wi-Fi. The game will be released Spring of 2012.

Atlus also collaborated with Arc System Works (the team behind BlazBlue) to create a Persona 4 fighting game, yes that’s right folks, a Persona 4 fighting game. It will be entitled as Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, it will be a 2D fighting game. It will use a 4-button fighting system to make it more approachable to newcomers in the genre. The console version will include a Story mode, VS mode, Score attack and an Online mode for the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. There will be guest characters from the Persona 3 game. Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena is scheduled to release in Spring of 2012 in the Japanese arcades and in Summer to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

And finally, Persona 4 The Animation is scheduled to air in Japan this October. The anime will be handled by AIC ASTA and art director Shigenori Soejima and composer Shoji Meguro  will also be invovled in the anime, majority of the voice actors will also return with their respected roles. This is the second anime series based on the Persona franchise, the other was Persona: Trinity Soul.
