Kingston is known for making memory and storage solutions for PC enthusiasts, now venturing further to the PC peripherals realm, they created their first gaming headset. Will the HyperX Cloud be able to compete with the other top branded gaming headphones in the market?

The design of the HyperX Cloud is very simple, nothing too fancy nor flashy, no blinking LEDs, just a simple structure design and that’s it, the design had two color variants; white & black and Black & red (the review unit was the white & black variant). Despite the simplistic look, the headset is really sturdy with high quality materials, built from solid aluminum and high quality plastic, this ensures that the HyperX Cloud will last longer from long session of intense gaming.

One of the good things with the HyperX Cloud is that the microphone is detachable as well as interchangeable ear pads where you can choose from the leatherette padded cups or the soft memory foam cups. There are also additional accessories such as adapters for smartphones, tablets, and consoles, there’s even for airplane travels.

Aside from the great quality build of the headset, it is even very comfortable to use, even if you wear it for long hours, thanks to the padded headband and soft cushioned ear pads. And it is also surprisingly light, even after a long session of usage it won’t feel uncomfortable to your head. The drawback for the headset is that it is not foldable like some other popular gaming headsets, which could be difficult to bring on your bags, especially for those who want more space for their luggage. But thanks to its durable materials, the headset won’t be getting much beating on your daily travels

As for audio quality, the HyperX Cloud can provide really great sounds, thanks to its 53mm drivers. With really good amount of bass and just the right level of treble, you don’t need to tweak much on the equalizer at the beginning. It may not be the best quality from the more expensive high-end headphones, but at its price range, it is still a great value. We tried testing the unit from different media; music, videos, movies and games and from different platform, heck we even tested the HyperX Cloud on older handheld consoles like the PlayStation Portable yet there were no issues or whatsoever. The only downside is that it has no surround sound feature, though with the use of a digital surround software, you can replicate the surround audio to the HyperX Cloud. The detachable condenser microphone has good audio quality as well, not much noise was detected on the voice audio, which is a big help during game chats.

Overall the HyperX Cloud is a great gaming headset which is comfortable to use, lightweight and good audio quality. It may only have a simple design which may not make it long like a high-end product, but its sturdy quality makes up for it. If you need to look for a really good quality headset for your gaming and even music needs and can spare PhP 4000 for it, the HyperX Cloud will not disappoint you.
