Finally, after months of waiting, we get the first image of the new Voltron.

In just a few months after the initial announcement of Netflix regarding the Voltron remake project with Dreamworks Animation, the first image of the new version of the lion force super robot, now called the “Legendary Defender” has been revealed to the delight of the fans that are awaiting the release of the upcoming series.

The new sleek and modern Voltron.

The resemblance to the original lion force robot is noticeable right away at first glance with not much changes being made to Voltron’s original look, giving that nostalgic feel of the original 80s classic. The show’s co-executive producer,  Lauren Montgomery further supports this notion as she states that “We’re [Netflix/Dreamworks] trying to keep as much of that classic feel to it as we can, because ultimately we have huge amounts of nostalgia for [the original] show”.

Voltron: Legendary Defender will be shown via Netflix later this year, although US fans can get the first look of the reboot this coming Easter Weekend, with a screening to be done in the WonderCon 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California.
