This is definitely heartbreaking for Call of Duty fans.

For those who haven’t heard the news, Activision has just revealed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and along with the announcement was the reveal of the remastered version of the popular Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. But you can’t get the remastered edition as a separate game.

According to the FAQ for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, The game can only be purchased via the Legacy, Legacy Pro and Digital Deluxe Editions of Infinite Warfare. And sadly it won’t be on a separate disc as it will be downloaded as a digital game. What also makes it sad is that it you can’t get this game as a separate copy elsewhere, so if you want to get the game, you need to purchase the expensive bundles of Infinite Warfare. Hopefully Activision would reconsider releasing this separately if more players wants to purchase the game without spending $80 for the game.

But aside from not getting the Remastered game elsewhere, Modern Warfare Remastered will feature 10 multiplayer maps (out from the original 20) and the full campaign mode. Raven Software will be in charge of developing the Remastered version of Modern Warfare, this team has been collaborating with Infinity Ward for its previous Call of Duty games and they are also the team behind the China-exclusive Call of Duty Online.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will take place in a futuristic setting with more new features for multiplayer and will include a Zombie mode.
