A new breed of gaming hardware enters the Philippine market, this time from multinational electronics hardware manufacturer, Acer.

The Glorietta Activity Center was filled with shades of red and heavy music last June 25, 2016 as Acer Philippines chose it to be the venue for the national launch of their new gaming line, Predator.

There’s more than meets the eye on this one.

Hosted by now world renowned gaming host Eri Neeman, Acer Philippines went full shotgun with their product reveal, showcasing not only their product’s capabilities through discussions and video presentations but also inviting spectators to try out their products as well as enjoy the other activities such as a mini-cosplay presentation, an Overwatch tournament and even inviting rock band Kjwan.

Predator’s Manager of Global Marketing, Steven Funcke outlines Acer’s decision to venture into the field of gaming hardware, even with the big competitions already being established, as well as partnering with hardware and software companies such as NVIDIA, Intel and Xsplit to create a fully optimized gaming product by upping the “ante in gaming device standards” and building the Predator to be a product with much more to offer.

Aside from discussing its specifications, Steven also discussed the possibility of further optimization such as Overclocking support from more than the BIOS Level for Predator devices, as well as hints of Esports venture with Intel’s very own Philippine Country Manager, Calum Chrisholm, stating the possibility of hosting the presitigious Intel Extreme Masters tournament here in the country after the success of major events such as ESL One Manila and the Manila Major. Funcke then tops it off by dropping info bombs regarding future Virtual Reality products such as VR Headsets in which Predator is hoping to manufacture.

In addition to your standard lineup of Laptops and Gaming PCs, the Predator line also includes a curve display monitor, gaming optimized mobile tablet, and even a gaming projector. Predator also outlines its support for content creators, most especially live streamers, by working together with Xsplit for the inclusion of a free 6 month Premium Licence for Predator notebook purchasers.

The Predator will be available in PC Express, Gilmore Avenue,  SM North EDSA’s Villman Computers and in the Octagon C0mputer Superstore in SM Megamall with more and more computer hardware stores distributing Predator gaming devices should be available in the future. A special promotion offer for the first 100 purchasers of the Acer Predator 15 gaming notebook is also ongoing, and said purchasers can get the product at a special price rate.
