*UPDATE: It seems that players out Australia, New Zealand and Japan are having connectivity issues, there is a possibility the Niantic Labs has restricted the access to areas that are not yet covered by the game. Only time will tell on when the restriction will be lifted.

After the long wait, Pokemon Go is finally available in select countries for both the iOS and Android. Australian, New Zealand and Japanese players will now have a chance to become a Pokemon Trainer with the new mobile game by Nintendo and partner developer Niantic Labs, it was a surprise for Nintendo to kept the release date mum for quite some time. For those who are not familiar with Pokemon Go, it lets you roam around your city catching Pokemons by going to certain landmarks found in the game’s map. You can even battle other rare/legendary Pokemons with other fellow trainers or even challenge any Gym Trainers scattered around the map.

The game had conducted its beta test last May where it ended last June and it is finally here, though other countries may have to wait a bit before it becomes available, though it may take a day or two before it is locally available to everyone, some who are eager to try out Pokemon Go may have to perform some other methods of acquiring the game.

For Android users, if it’s not available in your country on the Google Play store, you may have to find the APK file and install it to their Android phones in order to play it. You can search for it on the internet how to get a download copy, just be aware that some of these sites may have any malware or viruses waiting for you.

Meanwhile iOS users may have to log in an Australian or Japanese Apple ID account in order to download it on the App Store, users can do so by logging out their current iTunes/iCloud and register a new one and enter Australia, New Zealand or Japan as your country.

Just be sure that your smartphones are on the latest OS or models (version 4.3 or Jelly Bean for Android and versions from iPhone 5 and above for iOS users) to make the game work on your phones. Some users however are experiencing issues with Intel chip installed phones and other models such as the ASUS Zenfone 2 where they cannot launch the game, Niantic Labs would hopefully release an update to fix these issues.

No details on when the other countries will be able to play Pokemon Go, best bet is to check the App Store once in a while.
