Things get weird at Konami by mixing Metal Gear with zombies in their reveal of Metal Gear Survive.

Gaming website IGN has revealed the newest Metal Gear game from Konami. Metal Gear Survive will be a 4-player co-op stealth game that combines the elements of Metal Gear’s stealth gameplay with zombie-like creatures. The game will set moments after the events on Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes where the surviving MSF soldiers were sucked into a wormhole that leads them to an alternate dimension filled with crystal-infused zombies.

This will be the first Metal Gear game after the departure of creator Hideo Kojima from Konami, and there are no details if the remaining staff of the original Kojima Productions will be involved to this new project. According to Konami Europe’s president Tomotada Tashiro, Survive will offer a fresh take on the famous stealth system of the Metal Gear franchise and it will be within the co-op setting, so Survive will heavily be on cooperative gaming. No details if Big Boss will make an appearance or any of the Metal Gear Solid characters, but at the end of the video, a possible boss battle of a Metal Gear can be expected in the game.

Metal Gear Survive will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 2017, it will run on the Fox Engine that powered the Metal Gear Solid V games.
