Yup, it’s back.

Just days after their initial announcement back at ESGS 2016, Playpark drops more news regarding the return of Special Force Online here in the Philippines as they formally announce the news of its Closed Beta Phase which will start this November 24, 2016.

First launched in 2008, Special Force Online became a huge FPS hit in the country up until its sudden shutdown in 2013.  As Playpark already runs the sequel Special Force Online 2, the question of whether the rebirth of Special Force Online may potentially hurt SF 2 as the game may possibly cannibalize SF 2’s players into moving into SF is being tossed around, Playpark notes that both games have different approaches to gameplay and that they trust that both games will cater to these different preferred playstyles among players meaning that each will have their own unique player community rather than one game eating up the other’s userbase.

Together with the announcement, Playpark also adds their Esports plans for Special Force Online which includes a national or Philippine Championships among a string of tournaments for 2017 which will build-up towards the Special Force Online World Championships.
