Leading video game developer and publisher, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Asia, today announced that TEKKEN 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 for Southeast Asia has concluded.

We congratulate Muhammad Adriyansyah Jusuf (MEAT) and Alexandre Gabrielle Laverez (AK) for winning their respective country qualifiers. Ahmad Zaharin Arenz, 1st runner-up at the Southeast Asia Major, will also be part of the team to represent Southeast Asia at the upcoming King of Iron Fist tournament in Japan on 10th December 2016.

“We are really proud of the Tekken fans in Southeast Asia. Their passion towards the game continues to show how popular Tekken is in this region. It is regretful that we could not bring the qualifiers to Thailand this year, we promise it will be bigger and more exciting for Thai fans in 2017. The next console release of Tekken 7 will definitely continue to bring excitement to the fans and we hope to further grow the Tekken brand in Southeast Asia.” – Rainel Tan, General Manager (Southeast Asia).

Due to the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 13th October 2016, the Thailand qualifiers will be postponed until 2017. However, fans will still be able to pit their skills on Tekken 7 at Thailand Game Show Big Festival 2016 happening on 9th to 11th December for causals. More information will be announced at a later date.
