UNICORN!

The 1:1 scale statue of the Gundam RX 78-2 may have already bid its farewell to the many Gundam fans after it’s lengthy stay in the Tokyo waterfront but the fans themselves shouldn’t be all too sad for a replacement is already being planned and that is through the form of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.

Already on its way for an official unveiling this coming Fall season in Japan, the 1:1 statue of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is part of Bandai and SUNRISE’s Tokyo Gundam Project 2017 which also includes a plan to open up a new Gundam-themed entertainment facility, the “Gundam Base Tokyo”, happening later this year, (although they could have just called it “The White Base Tokyo”).

The Gundam Base Tokyo facility will be located in the same DiverCity vicinity, in Aomi, Tokyo and will be 2000 square meters of a showcase of the Gundam and Gunpla culture.

In order Gundam related news, the Gunpla culture’s legendary man, Katsumi Kawaguchi, otherwise known as Meijin Kawaguchi has offered us a glimpse of some of his past Gunpla builds featuring kits from the UC, Cosmi, and Anno Domini eras to name a few which stands testament to the skills of the widely acclaimed “Gunpla master”.
