Gundam news, get your Gundam news here.

Well, we sure had a weird ordeal with FA Girls last week but this time, we’re back to being all about Gundam as we have got a couple of news for all of you spacenoids, first off, builders that are currently located in the Philippines will have their chance to show-off their kit building skills once again as Gundam Philippines and Toy Kingdom announces the 2017 installment of the annual Gundam Model Kit Contest happening this late June 2017. Not to be confused with the bigger Gundam Builders World Cup, the GMKC will cater towards clean, base builds only, with the customization limited to decals and paint. Also, keep in mind that only kits that are purchased from Toy Kingdom and Toy Kingdom Express stores will be valid for entry and interested participants will have to present a valid receipt of purchase in order to qualify.

4 main categories will be present in this year’s GMKC, each to award cash prizes and Gundam freebies, with the main prize being a free trip to witness the Gunpla Expo in Korea happening later this year. For more information about GMKC Philippines, and for interested participants, you can head on to the official event post on the Gundam Philippines social media page.

In other Gundam news, Tamashii Nations, one of Japan’s popular manufacturers of scale model statues from various popular anime and mecha franchises has just announced their newest Chogokin Gundam lineup consisting of different color iterations of the RX 78-2 Gundam, the Guncannon, and the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee in Destroy Mode, now up for pre-order and slated for release this coming Sept 2017.

The models will come in Chrome, Metallic Green (RX 78-2), Metallic Blue (Banshee), and Metallic Red (Guncannon) color variants and is priced at JPY  1,296.

Together with their new Chogokin Gundam additions, Tamashii Nations has also revealed their own variation of the Formania series, which are basically highly detailed busts, for the Sazabi and Nu Gundam. Dubbed as the Formania EX, Tamashii’s own Formania line resurrects the already discontinued project by Bandai which was first revealed back in 2010, and comes with more detail, more gimmicks, and a metallic surface finish.

Both kits will come with their own gimmicks and add-ons such as maintenance pods, stands and even spotlights, and will also be set for release this coming Sept 2017. The Sazabi will be priced at JPY 27,000, whereas the Nu Gundam will bear the price tag of JPY 21,600.

Now if in case you’re looking for more additions to your Real Grade line, perhaps you should start saving up for Bandai’s soon to be new addition to the more detailed 1/144 series  which is the RX-0 Gundam Unicorn, which we assume will be released sometime this Fall 2017, together with the arrival of the 1:1 scale Unicorn Gundam statue in Tokyo to replace the RX 78-2 Gundam statue which previously stood in front of the Diver City Plaza.

The 1/144 kits is also believed to already include both the Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode frames, although there is no news if special add-ons such as the Full Armor armaments and the Awakened Mode frame will also be included or released as, well, special add-ons.

And oh, just so you know, we are cooking up a show centered around our Mecha Fridays segment where we would be talking everything about mechas, from Gundams, Gunplas, Super Robots, Anime series, model kits, and of course Gundams! We’re putting up everything together at the moment and hopefully launch our first episode anytime soon in the Reimaru Files YouTube channel so hopefully you could check it out.
