Well, that was unexpected.

If you thought that everyone has already settled with the fact that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 is the new entry level graphics card for modern day PCs then, well, you and us and perhaps even everyone else thought wrong as NVIDIA silently reveals a new addition to the GeForce 10-series line, and what is now hailed as the new entry-level GPU, the GeForce GT 1030.

Look at this bad boy.

The specs, while it doesn’t say much when compared to the other models of the 10-series line, sit somewhere around the GT 730’s 64-bit version, with the same CUDA Core Count of 384, albeit with higher clock speeds at 1468 Mhz. Being an entry level card, the GT 1030 lacks most of the features that the other 10-series model have such as Multi-Projection, VR compatibility, SLI, G-Sync and Gamestream, although it thus employ other tech such as GPU Boost, DirectX and Vulkan support and as well as Open GL 4.5, and yes, the card is also utilizing NVIDIA’s new Pascal architecture.

Although its gaming performance might still be put in question as many are still yet to benchmark the 1030 for present-gen games, the card might look to perform well on Esports titles, such as Dota 2 and League of Legends, and could deliver on computing jobs such as quick video renders and multimedia tasks.

Together with NVIDIA’s GT 1030 release, variants from other manufacturers are also starting to enter the market, with the first ones coming out from ZOTAC and EVGA, with other big manufacturers such as MSI also slowly putting up listings for the GT 1030 on various online markets with the stocks to hopefully deploy on retail stores sometime next month.
