It’s the middle of January 2018 and looks like the opening month of the new year is promising a lot of stuff when it comes to Gundam with the first wave of kits already looking to be deployed. No speaking of new, it can be remembered that days back Bandai had a huge surprise for Gunpla fans as they unveiled their own Master Grade version of the humongous MSA-0011［Bst］ S Gundam Booster Unit Type Plan 303E a.k.a the “Deep Striker” which was featured in the novel, Gundam Sentinel, and which was only previously available through third-party manufacturers.

Now we wanna put emphasis on the term “humongous” because this kit could potentially be BIGGER than any of the previously released kits under the Master Grade line which would totally make sense given that the specified dimensions has this spaceship of a Gundam stand at least 5x taller than any Gundam unit in the Universal Timeline Era, and is equipped with some big armaments together with multiple boosters for deep space travel. The mobile suit is part of the Gundam Sentinel novel released back in 1987 which also included the MSA-0011 S Gundam who already has its own Master Grade kit.

Now moving on to this month’s Gunpla lineup, Bandai barrages us with a good selection of High Grade and Master Grade kits from Origins, Build Fighters, Wing, SEED, and even the Thunderbolt series, although we’d have to point out that a good chunk of this month’s releases is under the P-Bandai tag. It is also worth to note that the Japan Amazon limited HGBF 1/144 A-Z Gundam is also getting released this month which is said to be only ordered through Amazon JP although certain official retailers did previously tease that they might be able to bring the kit on official partner outlets.
