Taipei Game Show 2021 Virtual and Physical Hybrid Events Show Theme “Keep on Gaming” Connects Global Gamers Without Time And Difference

Taipei Game Show 2021 will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 from January 28th to January 31st, simultaneously carrying out virtual and physical events to kick off 2021 with a brand new style. This time, the theme of the show is set to be Keep on Gaming, reflecting gamers’ spirit to challenge themselves and never give up, and having players around the world have fun together without borders through technologies and the internet.

B2C Zone

Taipei Game Show 2021 has relocated to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, building a refreshing B2C zone (1/28-1/31) where players can experience more than one hundred games onsite, enjoy exciting tournaments, interact with KOLs, and get lots of virtual prizes for games. SLAM DUNK, published by DeNA, will hold its first-ever playoffs. Tower of Saviors, soon celebrating its 8th anniversary, will also have fun with players through a 5-day streaming show along with the on-site stage activities. The next-gen new product UFO Afterlight will make Taipei Game Show the first stop to launch its global beta. Onsite booths of PUBG Mobile and Punishing: Gray Raven will elaborately recreate scenes from the game at the show. Several super popular games like Arknights, Girls’ Frontline, Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact, HOM, Azur Lane, and Separate Identities Force will also be in the lineup this year.

In terms of Taiwanese developed games, X-Legend’s brand-new title Grand Fantasia Online, MMORPG mobile game HUTAORIJI, Lunewaker Entertainment’s new title Luna Discordia, and trending games PAGUI and Cooking Monster, as well as Indie House, the designated area for indie games, will be showcasing more than 50 games in total and expecting players to come together for the event.

Big gaming brands like Republic of Gamers (ROG), GIGABYTE AORUS, Micro-Star International (MSI), and Western Digital WD BLACK will each showcase their long-expected new line of products. Platforms such as Planet9 – Acer’s Next-Gen Esports Platform – will be cooperating with popular titles to provide players with the most exciting gaming and entertainment experiences.

Top Three Themed Sections

Every year, Indie House and Board Game Wonderland are some of the most popular themed sections among all visiting players. This year, Indie House has brought 52 indie games from Austria, Hong Kong, the U.K., the U.S., and Taiwan. Board Game Wonderland has brought 25 domestic and international board game brands, including powerful IP-themed board games like Minecraft, making its first debut, Small World of Warcraft (Chinese Edition), Splendor Marvel (Chinese Edition), and The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth (Chinese Edition). The latest development of Star Wars: Unlock! (Traditional Chinese Edition) will also be revealed.

Esports Tournament Stage will be presenting all-star tournaments, including Just Dance 2021, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant, Fight of Animals: Arena, Legends of Runeterra, and Conqueror’s Blade. The prize pool along with gaming peripheral prizes is worth as much as NT$200,000 in total.

 

B2B Zone

As the largest game industry business networking platform in Asia, Taipei Game Show launches its brand new platform GAME LINKER, providing an online showcasing platform and year-round business solutions. International themed pavilions will also be launched for the first time, including Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association (HKDEA), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), and Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA). All pavilions will be participating online showcase, connecting global business opportunities.

B2B Zone (1/28-1/29) has more than 300 companies participating in its online business networking. These companies are from more than 35 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Philippines, the U.K., France, Germany, the U.S., and Canada. World-renowned companies such as XBOX, PubMatic, Gravity, Nicalis, Definite Studios, and G-angle, as well as indie game developers like Funselektor, ION LANDS, and Bedtime Digital Games, will all be participating in this year’s networking activities. Taiwanese game companies, including Softstar, Soft-World, Chinese Gamer Int., Funyours Technology, Appier, Seedo Studio, and BearBone Studio, will also be joining in for the iconic annual event through the online networking platform and onsite exhibition.

Indie Game Award, the highly anticipated award by indie game developers around the globe, will be moving into its 7th edition this year with globally renowned digital marketing company Xsolla as the award’s exclusive sponsor. The number of the participating countries is at the highest ever, with 144 games from 36 countries and regions competing for nine awards. The online ceremony is set to be streamed on January 28th on Taipei Game Show’s official YouTube channel, where the award recipients will be announced.

APGS ONLINE

Asia Pacific Game Summit (APGS) will be carried out exclusively online. The summit has invited experts from Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, China, Thailand, the U.S., and France to share professional insights and the latest industry trends in the fields of the game. The sharing is set to be streamed at 3 p.m. (Taiwan time, GMT+8) on January 28th and 29th on Taipei Game Show’s official YouTube channel, with Chinese and English subtitles provided to deliver the most brilliant content.

On the first day of the show, Shinji Hashimoto, the senior managing director of the famous Japanese game company SQUARE ENIX, will be specially invited to talk about Final Fantasy’s branding history over the past 30 years; Pentium Network, meanwhile, will be talking about the gaming industry’s intelligent IT trends; Infobip will be discussing how SaaS helps the game industry to interact with players globally; Vermillion Digital from Thailand, will be exploring how to use third-party tools to reduce the costs on game development; and BINGOB, ELL from China will be sharing details about project initiation and game market positioning.

On the second day, Rod Chang, the senior director of Microsoft XBOX Asia, will be sharing how XBOX cooperates with game developers. PubMatic will be discussing key factors developers must consider when seeking a global advertisement profit scale. In addition, Riversense Games, BattleBrew Productions, Folktales Digital, and Muse Games will be sharing insights on game development.

In accordance with the epidemic prevention policies of the Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Center and the Taipei City Government, attendees must adhere to epidemic prevention regulations, complying with five steps to attend the show: complete an ID check for registration, undergo a temperature check before entry, prepare and wear a mask at all times, sanitize hands regularly, maintain social distancing while queuing for entry.
