Granado Espada PH website is back

Published by Chad on August 5th, 2008 - in Granado Espada

Sigh at last..or if we say it in Filipino (Hay sa wakas..)
The Granado Espada Philippines Official Website is back from the grave
http://granadoespada.e-games.com.ph/

as officially announced by CM Veya from her blog: Click here

If some of you remembered that on the early days of GE, the GE ph site has some issues, like the infamous virus website issue where whenever you goggle search the GE PH site, it’ll warn you that there’s a virus inside the website…you can view the images i posted on the forums a year ago here

Also, another issue with the site was the lack of updates. imagine some links are articles are way dated back on the pre-open beta days.

Okay, let’s set aside the past and take a look into the present, the site has a new layout which matches with the Requiem Patch which is pretty good, and some icon links with the GE characters in the pics.

The Head Banner and the Flash Banner

The Icon Links on the sides

and one of the new additions to the site is the RNPC database. Here, you can view their profile, stats and their list of stances available. although some RNPCs have short or no character profile like Gracielo and the Auch Infantry.

Another addition is the update in the list of GE PH bloggers, although some blogs in the lists haven’t updated their blogs (like for more than 5 months?) . But looking at the number of blogs, this shows that there still alot of players still enjoying Granado Espada.

Whoopee I’m on the list XD

And the last part, I really laughed at the partners link, like for example at Sterling Papers, As if they have products like notebooks and binders for GE…well yeah they have RAN and Audition notebooks, and they’re also from e-games,and even Globe, lol they have a GE text service last year, they say that when you register, they’ll give you updates, news and game tips regularly, but up to now there’s not a single text from the service, so why bother posting these partners on the site if they don’t even endorse the game lol

So overall, the design of the site is pretty good, Great job for Miss Veya and co.
but I do hope hope they continue on updating the site for more news and events,
and I also hope this time, the site won’t be close again

Till next time…

The Outrageous Musketeer

Published by Chad on July 28th, 2008 - in Granado Espada

Finally after all the wait, my musketeer just got her new stance; the Outrage Shot. This is one of the new stances that was released this July for the Requeim Expansion of Granado Espada, aside from the musketeer; Grace Bernelli, Lorch, Brunie and Gavin will also get new range stances. For this article, I’ve created a guide that focuses more on the Outrage Shot, on how good it is, how can you obtain it and much more…
for starters, here are the stance and skill description for the stance:(sources from the GE website)

Outrage Shot

This is an upgraded version of dual pistols, able to fire a series of rapid shots at the enemy. At Level 25, this stance will grant you +40 Accuracy and +25% Attack Speed.

The Skills

Sapping Shots

Range: 1 enemy within a range of 6M

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Requires: 100 SP and 4 Pistol Bullets

Description: Fires at enemy (Unable to move the lower half of one’s body)

Power: 1050% ATK and 25% chance to inflict [Mortal Wound]

*side note: a very good starting skill with high damage although it has a 5 sec. cooldown, the good part is that it’s a knockback skill and has a chance to inflict mortal wound.

Octet-Stream

Range: 1 enemy within a range of 7M

Cooldown: 10 seconds

Requires: 200 SP and 8 Pistol Bullets

Description: Fires 8 times consecutively

Power: 2263% ATK

*side note: an improved version of quatro firing, the bad side is that this skill has no mortal wound infliction.

Dancing Revolvers

Range: Up to 6 enemies 8M away and within a 4M radius

Cooldown: 15 seconds

Requires: 250 SP and 20 Pistol Bullets

Description: A frenzy of graceful shots at enemies

Power: 1345% ATK and 50% chance to inflict [Mortal Wound]

*side note: one of the coolest skill ever, can eliminate high level mobs with one use (7k-12k damage), unfortunately it can only target 6,

Desperados

Range: 1 enemy within a range of 9M

Cooldown: 20 seconds

Requires: 300 SP and 20 Pistol Bullets

Description: Random shots at enemies

Power: 1267% ATK, 100% chance to inflict [Mortal Wound] and -50 Enemy DEF

*side note: another cool skill, with proper weapons, you can kill fighters with these, if not,it’ll surely inflict mortal wound on them, and with the -100 DEF (added with the mortal wound effect) it can leave the fighter weakened for any attack. The only drawback is that the skill takes long to finish its animation, leaving the musketeer open for any counterattack

Mortal Wound: reduces ATK, attack speed, and movement speed by 15%, reduces DEF by 50

Double-Gun Shot / Outrage Shot

Why Outrage Shot?

You really gonna love these skills, almost every one of them has a chance or always inflict Mortal Wound status effect,

which can be really helpful in pvps and even on raids, also, you’ll notice that the attack speed has dramatically increased, meaning the musketeer can reach 20 attack speed even without buffs, and if properly equipped, it can go faster at 15-10 attack speed. With just 3 musketeers, you can wreak havoc on your enemies before they can reach you. Another good thing is the +40 accuracy bonus at max level, your musketeer can reach perfect accuracy (100 Accuracy).

One of the things I really love with this stance is that it hits the target four times, with the addition of the insane high attack speed, and with some critical bonus on your weapon, you can deal lots of damage and I mean a lot, it could range at 2.5k to 4k and (gasp*) 5k to 8k damage, it can deal massive damage to high level boss without spamming any skills. You remember the video I posted a few weeks ago? now that’s what I’m talking about, now that’s PURE PWNAGE ^^

But the bad part with the Outrage Shot is that it can eat up your ammunition pretty fast, just playing for 6-7 hours, you’ll see notice that your pistol ammos are running empty. And if have two or more Musks, your ammos would only last for 2 hours. So it can be difficult to leave your Musketeer in AFK while using Outrage Shot, better use it when hunting or in raids.

To see how the skills and attacks of the Outrage Shot has, I created a video of the different skills,

by the way, thanks to xXVOLDEMORTXx for helping me with the skill demonstration.

(Note: There’s a correction in one of the skill name in the video, It should be Dancing Revolvers instead of Dancing Revolers lol)

How to get it

Now you know how good Outrage Shot is, for the next part, I’ll show you how to get it.

First of all you need to be in Veteran Level, second, your Double-Gun Shot Stance must be at level 25, and finally, you’ll be needing 25 pcs. of Mystery Powders and 30 pcs. of Expedition Memos

The Mystery Powder can be purchase via G-Points from Leticia, it costs around 220 G-Points per piece, for 25 pieces, it’ll be at 5500 G-Points.

For the Expedition’s Memo, this can be found from monsters at the Bahamas Maps, the drop rate is high that you can collect 30 pcs. in less than an hour.

Once you have all the requirements, proceed to the Bahamas Base Camp, you can get there by going to Ustuir Zona Quatro. Then talk to the Scholar NPC, then select your desired stance book (of course your choice would be Outrage Shot)

And voila, you now received your very own Outrage Shot stance book, now go level your stance ^^

Equipping your Musketeer

Now you’ve got your Stance Book, the next step is to equip your musketeer, the most important thing to note is giving it Attack Speed bonuses, so invest more on that, followed by Attack bonuses and Critical Rate, you can even add some status effect bonus. For the Armor, it’s best to get the level 84 Elite Striform or the level 100 Corsair de Rosso since these are the only good armors that have +8% attack speed bonus, if possible, try to get the Divine Angel Wing back costume, this gives a 5% attack Speed, movement speed bonus and it’s a permanent costume, next is to find a good leather gloves with 10% attack speed or if you have lots of vis, try investing on veteran gloves with attack speed of 15%-20%. For the Weapons, it’s better to invest on Elite 92 Pistols rather than on the level 100 Desert Storm since chipping 92 weapons are alot cheaper and both of them has the same AR and damage.

If you want an alternative weapon, you can try the Pioneer Weapons, for the level 100 Pioneer Weapons, you’ll be needing Epic Glaziums and 4 pcs. of Mystery Powders. Epic Glaziums can be found on high level quests (Katovic, Bahamas and other Veteran Level Maps). Level 100 Pioneer Weapons are the only Pioneer Weapons that requires Mystery Powders.

For more info on how to craft Pioneer Weapons, visit the GE website’s guide

The level 100 Pioneer Weapons are 1 AR and 16 ATK lower than the usual level 100 Weapons, but with just one enhancement chip , you can get incredible stats like this Pistol for example:

If you’re gonna bring 3 Musks or if you have a team with no buffer (Scout, Soho and even Rio wtih his Serenade Stance), it’s better to bring lots of Analeptic Remedy and Big Watermelon Slices, Watermelons can be bought at Port of Bahia.

Musketeer or Brunie?

There’s even a debate on whether Brunie or the Musketeer is better with the Outrage Shot, you can find the forum discussion here. If you’d ask me, I’d prefer using the Musketeer over Brunie because of the Concentraion buff, at level 11 it can give a +1 AR bonus, plus 16% Critical Rate and +32 Accuracy, and add that with some critical bonus from your weapons, your Musk can deal lots of critical damage, although Brunie can still be powerful with its 9 AGI and a couple of status effect bonus pistols (Fear,Darkness,Poison) which can be deadly on PVP situations. But in terms of dealing damage, the Musketeer is still the winner.

So there you have it. I hope my guide has become very useful on your quest in creating your very own Outrageous Musketeer. Till next time…

The Diffrerent Faces of the GE "The Requiem" Poster

Published by Chad on July 1st, 2008 - in Granado Espada

The Requiem Patch is just few days away, with the patch already available for download
and everybody’s (well..almost everybody) preparing to promote the new patch

IAH and E-Games had already released a picture of their poster for GE v2.6

Now let’s take a look on the differences of these posters:

To start off, let’s take a look on the original poster from Korea:

You’ll notice that Calyce is included on the poster but she won’t be available on the Requiem patch, alongside Calyce is Bai Ho, who is available in the patch but not this month, but hopefully in August (let’s cross our fingers now ^^)
You’ll also see the some of the stock characters wearing Le Noir armor and some Serpent and Chess Series weapons. The cool part in the poster is the female Elementalist casting a spell

Onward to the next version is from Singapore:

You can see that Calyce, the Musketeer and the Elementalist were removed from the original poster (well since Calyce is not available on v2.6), replacing them were Feng Ling and Vicente Rio. The Requiem title is present on the poster with the famous subtitle for the latest patch. I know you guys will ask me why is it dated on June 2008 when it was scheduled for July, well it was originally scheduled on June 12, but due to current bug problems on the server, the schedule was moved to July 3. The bad part on this poster is that Feng Ling is really out of place on this poster and the Free to Play logo on the upper right corner looks a bit plain and boring.
overall the poster’s a bit average compared to the original version.

And finally the Philippine version:

As you can see this version is almost similar that to the Singapore one, but with some add details.
First, they remove Feng Ling from the poster (with is good) and Vicentne Rio with Bai Ho are bigger compared to the Singapore version, and the Free to Play logo has an improved design.
Also they added some pics below the poster for added details on the patch, but I hope that they didn’t remove the Musketeer and Elementalist on the poster. I can say that this is way better than the Singapore version.

So there you have it folks, the different versions of Granado Espada “The Requiem” Patch

damn I can’t wait ^^

Damn those Musks!!!

Published by Chad on July 1st, 2008 - in Granado Espada

If you take a look at the video taken from this link
(I found this at the SGE forums, you can find the original thread here

you’ll probably say: WTF!! damn those musks!!!
the player only used 3 expert musketeers in soloing the Queen Eater ( @_@)
hehe the stances of the musketeers in the video are the new ones for V2.6 which is called Outrage Shot and boy do they really hit that fast

can’t wait for v2.6 ^^

New Trailer for Granado Espada

Published by Chad on June 17th, 2008 - in Granado Espada

At last! the trailer for the upcoming V2.6 expansion “The Requiem” is finally here…

check out the trailer…
you can also check the trailer on the official website of GE

If this trailer can only be aired on Philippine Free TV like they did in Cabal…it would be so cool ^^

What If Special Part 2

Published by Chad on June 13th, 2008 - in Granado Espada, What If

Welcome back, last week I featured about what if GE has a brand new gameplay feature.
Now for the 2nd part of the GE Special, It’s all about RNPCs, yes folks we’re going to ask ourselves, what if GE has this brand new RNPC that’s gonna give us another twist to our game.

Note* you can notice that the 3 are almost similar to the stances of the fighter and scout, but only with a few twist to give the RNPCs some uniqueness. for Xian, he the ability to create a mirrored version of himself but with low stats, I also added some skills that matches that of a real ninja. As for Maria, I created some stances that can be similar to the famous whip-lashing Belmonts of the Castlevania series as a tribute to the popular game franchise (since there’s no Vampire race in GE, I decided to use Undead instead.) and finally we have a Assassin RNPC, but instead of just daggers, we’ll use katars and a hooded figure really matches the profile of the Assassin (looks familiar mmm?) and the fun part is that when you use the Shadow Blend skill, you can stalk to your enemies and then use the Shadow Wound skill unnoticed.

And now *drum roll* the bonus RNPC….

Tadan!!!!

Note* In honor for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, I decided to create Snake himself as an RNPC in GE, and if he does appear ingame, well that would be very cool.
All of his famous trademark skills are present as well as some new tricks that’s going to appear on his latest and final chapter on the Playstation3.

So there you have it folks, my 4 What If RNPCs, If you have any comments and even new RNPC ideas, you can post a comment on this post.
Tune in again next week for my 3rd installment of my GE What If Special.

Till then…have a great day…

What If Special Part 1

Published by Chad on June 5th, 2008 - in Granado Espada, What If
Hello again everyone, although the next patch, V2.5 will delayed for quite some time.
I decided to kill some time by cooking up some ideas…
like what if Granado Espada has this kind of blah blah…so the What If Special is born.
this idea was inspired from the What If Comics from Marvel, for more info about the comic, you can visit this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_If_(comics)
the four part special will be posted every week of June

(Warning: the following feature is only fictional, this will never appear in future GE versions, this feature is only meant for entertainment)

So let’s begin the first part….

What if…Granado Espada has this kind of feature in-game:

*Side Note:
You can notice that the Kurt and Edward team is the only Buff that requires two characters since only there were only two barons in GE. And to make the Trinity Bond balanced, I added some penalties to every bonus stats, like for example in the “Firing Squad” buff although it increases the attack, it also reduces the defense of the family, while the opposite is affected on the “Royal Guard” buff; it increases the defense by sacrificing the attack of the family, so we can say that the Trinity Bond is like a double-edged sword. Also, the order of the characters doesn’t affect the buff as long as you have the right characters.

So far these are the character combinations that I can think of, so if you guys have any comments and suggestions or even any character combination you want to contributed, feel free to comment on this page.

Come back next week for part two of my What If Special, and this time I’ll be featuring RNPCs…Till next time

Is it a sign?

I just remembered something that a e-games employee told me when I attended a Cabal Online I-Cafe meeting at Shakey’s Espania Branch last Saturday.
It’s just a simple phrase…”patay na ang GE” (GE is dead)
well of course i just laugh since i know that guy and maybe it’s just some sort of joke…
but as I reflect on the current situation the GE PH community is facing, could it be true?…
maybe it’s a hint that GE PH will be killed by the hands of E-Games mmmm?

the conclusion to this phrase will depend on E-Games plans…
