Talk about true next-generation gaming, Oculus Rift, the much celebrated VR headset now said to arrive in months to consumers.

Oculus VR CEO Brendan Iribe just announced this week that the much awaited consumer version of their Virtual Reality headset, Oculus Rift, will be released in months time, stating that “We’re all hungry for it to happen. We’re getting very close. It’s months, not years away, but many months.”, this statement was made during the Web Summit 2014 in Dublin, Ireland.

While stating that the release could be just “months away”, Oculus VR is still wary of the possible issues concerning their product, one being the need to develop a proper input device, and the side-effects from prolonged usage of VR devices, and of course the threat of other VR device developers, Brendan Iribe states that:

We’re a little worried about bigger companies putting out products that aren’t ready. Disorientation and motion sickness is the elephant in the room. We’re encouraging big companies not to put out a product before it’s ready.”

But even so, Iribe, and the whole of Oculus VR is more than hopeful to do a full release of their VR headset, saying “We don’t want it to be four or five years. We’re eager for this to happen“, rumors from VRFocus states that Oculus will be rolling out a limited number of Consumer version VR Headsets for Beta Tests, though this is not confirmed, nor denied by Oculus VR, it could be a huge possibility knowing their recent announcement regarding the release of their VR headset.
