At the first look on the Hyperion Fury’s design, you would definitely say that it is a big leap from the older mouse designs of Logitech. The appearance made it looked like a stealth machine, with the angular look, added with glowing blue LED and a stealth black matte finish. The look may make you think this would uncomfortable for your hand but it’s not, whether you have big or small hands, the design of the gaming mouse will make your hand feel at home. It has eight programmable buttons, and with some buttons placed on a much accessible location, more importantly on the thumb and index finger placement, so it’s easier to perform quick inputs during crucial matches on your multiplayer sessions. Left-handed players however will be turned off from the Hyperion Fury as the design is not ambidextrous, another letdown would be the weight, without any adjustments on the weight, and some may prefer a heavier weight for the mouse.

What makes the Hyperion Fury amazing was its Fusion Engine sensor, promising an astounding tracking speed of 500 inches per second.  Some gaming mouse had issues when moving it very quickly, as their conventional sensors had a hard time detecting the movement, but with the Hyperion fury, it’s just a piece of cake. The improved sensor can be a big game changer for competitive players for that quick last minute move for that crucial win. The mouse buttons are pressure sensitive, which making rapid pressing on the buttons quick faster, and despite the buttons being sensitive to low pressure, it does not however result in accidental button presses, which is a good part for its feat.

The Hyperion Fury can be fully optimized with the Logitech Gaming software, which was sadly requires you to download it separately instead of being bundled in a mini CD. The software provides a nifty amount of features to improve your gaming experience, with the likes of macro scripting, game profiles for custom key mapping, adjustable LED, Dpi settings and more. One of the great feature with the software is the auto detection on which game is running, once it detects the game, it will change its current mouse profile to the specific game profile so you don’t need to manually toggle your profile, the only drawback is that there are no downloadable profiles for specific games, giving players a hard time as they have to manually configure their profiles for each game.

So if you ask us if the G402 Hyperion Fury is a good gaming mouse, we can assure you it is a great gaming mouse. This is a great weapon for first person shooter fanatics for its powerful sensor and useful for RPG adventurers for its eight programmable buttons. Its design can also attract users who are into stylish gaming peripherals. There are may be some minor flaws including the software, but its optical sensor performance compensates it to be powerful mouse.

We pick the Hyperion Fury as our favorite gaming mouse for this year.
