Financial Sustainability is one of the biggest problems of today’s indie game developers, and its effects have reached Braid’s creator Jonathan Blow as he develops his new title, The Witness.

In an interview, Blow has stated that he had to go as far as borrowing money just to continue to sustain the development of the game due to the fact that Braid’s continuous digital sales have been slowly declining. What caused the slow growth in sales, Blow states, is the fact that people who play Xbox 360 and PS3 are not that big in doing digital purchases, these 2 platforms are being considered as 2 biggest platforms for Braid. Jonathan Blow adds that he hopes that a lot of people will be buying The Witness once it’s out.

The Witness is an upcoming 3D Puzzle Adventure game for the PC, iOS, and PS4 and is said to be released this year.
