It looks like some of the local retailers are breaking the street date release *sad face*

Everyone’s excited for the release of Persona 5, and with the release date slated on April 4 worldwide, a lot of Persona fans have readied their preorders from some of the major retail game stores. But looks like there are some retail shops that are selling copies of the game way early.

Some gamers have reported that they have spotted several copies of the Persona 5 Steelbook edition in some of the popular toy stores and audio/video stores on sale, a week early from the official release date. The said version was for Region 1 (USA), meanwhile the local version which is Region 3 (Asia) are still on schedule for an April 4 launch.

Though it may not much be of a concern for consumers (with the exception of seeing early game spoilers on social media), but breaking street dates could spell trouble for some distributors from game publishers, which could be barred from selling copies of future games if they continue to break street dates as it may considered a breach of contract.

Breaking street dates aren’t that of a rare sight , as some retailers take advantage of this to get an unfair lead from their competitors who are following to the original release day. Persona 5 will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on its original global release date on April 4, except for some local stores and in Japan (released last September 15, 2016)
