BrawlFest unveils standalone event Versus Arena

Brawlfest moves from the sidelines and into the major spotlight.

Despite the recent Esports hot issue that plagued the scene early this year, the Fighting Game community will not be without a highlight event this year as BrawlFest launches the Versus Arena, the brand’s very own stand-alone event for fighting game enthusiasts.

Originally known to be part of the Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit during its early days, BrawlFest has became a popular spot for Fighting Game players, with various communities involved and with popular, and sometimes “unique” Fighting Game titles being featured through various tournaments. Now, through the team-up with Gariath Concepts and PlayBook, BrawlFest is hoping to launch its first standalone event this coming August, about a week or so after EVO 2018, and just days before Tekken’s Tokyo Masters.

Although despite being expected to have big titles like Street Fighter, Tekken, Smash Bros.,  and others, the idea of the Versus Arena incorporating international circuit or ranking points for various major global Fighting Game events is still up in the air, especially with all the debacle with the Philippine government’s new involvement in Esports. Still, the Versus Arena is bound to be a great event nonetheless and will hope to bring the FG community together again under one roof.

The BrawlFest Versus Arena will be this coming August 17-19, 2018 at the Cyberzone Event Area in SM City North EDSA.
