The Last of Us Part 2 Release Announced (Finally!)

The long and arduous journey that The Last of Us gave me on PS3 was something I’d never forget. That title had the amazing ability of getting me grossly invested in Joey and his story in a mere eleven minutes after the game started. While they did provide a DLC, it wasn’t a full-on journey that I was looking for as an expansion on The Last of Us’ universe.

Finally, a recent reveal has shown us that Last of Us Part 2 is coming this February 21, 2020, and I can’t help but get excited. It also seems pretty fitting how Last of Us was one of the ‘swan song’ games for PS3 as it was on the end of its lifespan, and now the same appears to be happening on the PlayStation 4 with this sequel.

The trailer itself generally just talks to us about the story, and honestly that’s really where this title has had most of it’s strength in, so it seems like an apt way to hype up its fans. We have Ellie who appears to go through the tragedy of losing a loved one, and is going on a journey for revenge. And finally, a return of a very familiar face.

When you think about it, it’s possible that they’re planning to put Ellie in a similar situation Joey was in on his journey, the question would be what choices will Ellie take and how vastly would it differ from his foster Father’s footsteps?

Check out the trailer below.
