Hack and slash? Why not punch and smash!

From slashing and hacking robots, now to punching monsters. PlatinumGames, the development studio behind Bayonetta and Nier: Automata made quite a buzz as they unveil their new IP called Project G.G. To be developed under the director Hideki Kamiya, who also oversaw developed by PlatinumGames such as Viewtiful Joe, and The Wonderful 101 and as well as producer Atsushi Inaba, who also worked on the Viewtiful Joe series, Project G.G. is described as the “powerful climax to Hideki Kamiya’s superhero trilogy” whose first 2 entries would include the aforementioned games.

In a teaser that was released yesterday, the game seems to take inspiration from the Tokusatsu genre intertwined with some mecha elements in a way that’s more similar to the classic Ultraman and the more recent SSSS Gridman. The action would seem to be the most interesting aspect of this new IP for now as not much has been revealed yet, however, there would be more to than just the kaiju punching action that Kamiya suggests.
