Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the popular cross-platform naval warfare game World of Warships: Legends, has released an anniversary update to celebrate five years since the game’s release, packed with fresh content. It features a special charity activity to help preserve the USS Texas museum ship, an anniversary event inspired by Ancient Greece, plus the brand new Fleets Cup, three seasons of Ranked battles, and a traditional five-week campaign featuring the Pan-European Tier VIII Premium destroyer Velos.

Special DLC and limited edition console in support of USS Texas

World of Warships: Legends has joined an initiative to restore and preserve the USS Texas, a former United States battleship and an important piece of naval history. The ‘USS Texas Legacy’ DLC, designed for Xbox and PlayStation, will donate all proceeds to the Battleship Texas Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the centenary USS Texas as a historical museum ship.

In addition to themed DLC, Legends has also introduced a custom-made Xbox console designed in the shape of the USS Texas, which includes a real piece of metal from the ship. This exclusive console will be available as a raffle in North America, offering enthusiasts and supporters in that territory a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a genuine piece of history.

The Aegean Arrow campaign featuring a Premium Pan-European destroyer

The classic five-week campaign features 100 milestones, equipped with a catch-up mechanic. By completing it with active Admiralty Backing, players can receive the Pan-European Tier VIII Premium destroyer Velos, a swift and agile Fletcher-class vessel with quick-firing armaments and torpedoes, enhanced by a superior ‘Smoke Generator’ consumable.

Ancient Greece-inspired birthday celebrations and new competitive seasons

To celebrate its fifth anniversary, Legends has prepared plenty of special activities inspired by antiquity. These include three divine Commander guises, Athena, Poseidon and Zeus, a Champion’s Box that drops a random Crate from the best events in recent years, a new Calendar event, a free Birthday project in the Bureau and more. Additionally, players will get to enjoy the Fleets Cup, a new, exciting single-elimination tournament, and three new Ranked seasons on top, now featuring one-on-one battles.

World of Warships on PC also welcomes new ships and adventures

The latest update for the PC edition of World of Warships brings Spanish cruiser Almirante Oquendo to the Dockyard from August 7th until October 31st, equipped with twelve 203mm barrels ready to deal incredible damage. A new web activity, Labyrinths of History Adventure, arrives on August 21 until September 19 and puts players into the shoes of a British Commander, where decisions can be made to direct a story centered around the addition of the British Tier VIII Aircraft carrier Theseus. All of this is joined by the continued early access to French destroyers, new Brawls, and more.
