TAITO has released the download-only title GROOVE COASTER FUTURE PERFORMERS on the Nintendo Switch as an exclusive release.

GROOVE COASTER is a rhythm game series by TAITO, first released as a smartphone app in 2011. Based on the concept of “Music Game × Roller Coaster!”, players control their character as it rides along roller coaster-like rails that appear in sync with the music. By timing their actions to hit markers placed on the rails, players perform the music. The thoroughly designed background graphics, made to match the image of each song, have been highly praised by many players.

“GROOVE COASTER: FUTURE PERFORMERS” is the first new title in about six years, following “GROOVE COASTER Wai Wai Party!!!!” for Nintendo Switch, which has been available since November 2019. In addition to the evolved rhythm game experience, this new title features the series’ first story mode, allowing players to enjoy “Groove Coaster” as a music-based sports competition.

Players race along rails in sync with the music, enjoying thrilling gameplay and an immersive experience enhanced by dynamic lighting and visual effects. The music and visuals blend seamlessly, creating a sense of immersion at the next level.
The game features a wide variety of popular songs—including Anime, J-pop, VTuber, Vocaloid, Touhou arrangements, and original songs—for a total of 50 tracks.

Refined Graphics

For the first time in the series, the gameplay screen features a horizontal full screen, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in a world of music that fills the entire screen. The original background visuals, a hallmark of the GROOVE COASTER series, have been significantly enhanced, and for some tracks, players can also enjoy performances that incorporate the original music videos (MVs).

Two Different Types of Play Style

• Basic: With just four types of notes, even beginners can enjoy the game with ease.
• Advanced: With nine types of notes, it provides a challenging, yet exciting experience for advanced players.

Full Voice Acting × Story Mode

For the first time in the series, a story mode is included. Set in a future world where “GROOVE COASTER” has become a popular sport, players take on the role of the protagonist and aim for the top of the national tournament alongside friends and charming teachers. The game also features theme songs that synchronize with the story, allowing players to experience passionate battles.
