Gamescom Opening Night Live also saw worlds collide, as Monster Hunter Wilds producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Naoki Yoshida, director and producer of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, shared the stage to reveal a major mutual collaboration between the popular role-playing games.

Set to arrive in late September alongside Monster Hunter Wilds’s free Title Update 3, the special collaboration will see familiar elements from the world of Final Fantasy, such as Chocobos, appear in the Forbidden Lands. Hunters can also look forward to encountering the robotic superboss Omega Planetes in an all-new narrative quest. Stay tuned for more details soon.
