Metaphor: ReFantazio Takes Home the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards 2025

SEGA is thrilled to announce that Metaphor: ReFantazio, the latest RPG from ATLUS’s Studio Zero, has won the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards 2025. This award recognizes the most distinguished title in the Games of the Year Division.

Metaphor: ReFantazio previously earned consecutive Future Division Awards at the Japan Game Awards in 2023 and 2024, building major anticipation ahead of its release. Following its launch, the game received critical acclaim across platforms on Metacritic, with the PlayStation®5 version even achieving a Metascore of 94.

At The Game Awards 2024, one of the industry’s biggest events, it was nominated in six categories—including Game of the Year—and went on to win Best RPG, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction. Metaphor: ReFantazio has consistently triumphed at gaming award shows worldwide, captivating audiences and critics alike.
