Is Konami finally back?!

At the recent PlayStation State of Play presentation, Konami had a special segment that lasted over fifteen minutes, and they announced five games releasing on the PlayStation 5 (and to other platforms as well), with most of them releasing this year.

First on the announcement was Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2, releasing on August 27. It will include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, a PlayStation 3-exclusive title that has finally become available on newer platforms, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a PlayStation Portable classic that is making a return. The Collection will also include the Game Boy Color game Metal Gear: Ghost Babel and the Digital Soundtrack Volume 2.

The next title was Darwin’s Paradox! by ZDT Studio, a platformer-adventure game featuring an octopus. A game demo called Darwin’s Paradox! Tactical Octopus Action is now available, which recreates some scenes from the Metal Gear Solid franchise. The game will be released this year.

This one was a big surprise, as a new Castlevania game was revealed. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. With Evil Empire, the makers of Dead Cells, involved with the development, Belmont’s Curse returns to its roots on the sidescrolling Meroidvania action. The game will be available later this year.

A new Silent Hill game was also announced. Silent Hill: Townfall is co-developed by Screen Burn, a British dev studio, and will be available later in 2026. The game will have a first-person view, a new approach from its usual third-person perspective.

And finally, Rev.Noir is an action JRPG that is currently in development at Konami. A teaser trailer was revealed, but no further details were mentioned. No release date at the moment

This may be another promising year for Konami with new titles (and some remastered collections) from their bestselling franchises. Hopefully, we will see more new IP games being developed in the future.
