The Nintendo Switch Version of Pokémon Champions will Release on April

The Pokémon Company is pleased to share the following news about the Nintendo Switch and mobile device (iOS/Android) versions of Pokémon Champions.

In Pokémon Champions, you’ll enjoy Pokémon battles like those in previous Pokémon series games. These battles will use familiar mechanics such as Pokémon types, Abilities, and moves, enabling the rich, varied battle strategies players know and love. What’s more, you can battle cross-platform between the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, making it even easier to enjoy!

Pokémon Champions will also link with Pokémon HOME, allowing players to team up with certain Pokémon brought over from past Pokémon series games and Pokémon GO.

 

The Nintendo Switch version is slated for release

The release of the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon Champions is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack, a bundle including the base game and in-game benefits, will also be released on Wednesday, April 8.

 

Free update available on Nintendo Switch 2!

A free update is available for Pokémon Champions on Nintendo Switch 2.

When playing on Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll be able to enjoy Pokémon Champions with even clearer graphics.

Note: You will need to connect to the internet and download the latest update data (available at no cost).

 

 

Mega Evolve Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr and use them in battles!

 

 

Originally appearing in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr will also be appearing in Pokémon Champions! When they undergo Mega Evolution, some of these Pokémon will have never-before-seen Abilities that are making their first appearance in this title.

 

  • Mega Meganium
    • Ability: Mega Sol
      • Mega Meganium’s Ability Mega Sol is a new Ability appearing for the first time in this title.
      • When a Pokémon with this Ability uses its moves, it gains the same effect as if the weather were harsh sunlight.

 

  • Mega Emboar
    • Ability: Mold Breaker
      • Mega Emboar’s Ability is Mold Breaker.
      • The Pokémon’s moves are unaffected by the Ability of the target.

 

  • Mega Feraligatr
    • Ability: Dragonize
      • Mega Feraligatr’s Dragonize Ability is a new Ability appearing for the first time in this title.
      • Not only can the Pokémon use Normal-type moves as Dragon-type moves, but the power of these moves is boosted by 20%.
