After a long absence of a new series, a new Gundam series is will be formally announce on June 15, this announcement was found on the July issue of Shogakukan’s Corocoro Comics. The new series is entitled Gundam AGE and it will be developed by Level 5; who is also behind Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven and Danboru Senki.

Gundam AGE’s story has a different approach, it revolves on three generations of protagonists:

The first mprotagonist is Furitto Asuno, who developed the Gundam AGE-1 mobile suit equipped with a self-adapting computer called the AGE System. The second protagonist is Asemu Asuno, Furitto’s child. And the third mprotagonist is Kio Asuno, Furitto’s descendant who will inherit the Gundam.
The Gundam AGE-1 can be augmented as the Gundam AGE-1 Titus; which focuses more on power, and as the Gundam AGE-1 Sparrow; which is built for more speed.

From the looks of the series, it turns out that they are now gearing up to a kid-friendly series compared to the previous more mature similar to Gundam 00 and the Universal Century Gundam series.

Gundam AGE is scheduled to air in Japan this coming Fall (around August to November)
