Here is the trailer and movie poster for Pacific Rim, the upcoming movie by Guillermo del Toro (he directed Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Blade II, and the executive producer for Rise of the Guardians, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss in Boots and Megamind).

Pacific Rim is about giant mechas called Jaegers trying to fend off the invading Kaijus (怪獣 meaning ‘strange beast’) that came from the bottom of the sea. From the plot up to the mecha designs, fans of classic super robot anime and Kaiju (Godzilla, Gamera) movies will definitely enjoy this one.

Plus, Ellen McLain; the voice behind GLaDOS in Portal will have a role in Pacific Rim, as an AI, and from the trailer she really speaks like GLaDOS. Don’t forget awesome battle scenes as well, to get more of the action, check out the trailer below:

Pacific Rim will be showing in theaters in July 12, 2013 starring Charlie HunnamRinko Kikuchi and Idris Elba.
