Do you remember what big events you were part of last year? Was it a concert, a sports activity, or maybe a fund raising somewhere? Whatever it is, most likely it was in the calendar of Gala Magazine’s 2012 happenings.

Gala (pronounced as “gālə” or a social occasion with special entertainments or performances), is a monthly magazine by North Point publishing dedicated to featuring events that happened (or will happen) all around the Philippines. They hosted an event last July 6, 2013 at One Esplanade for their magazine’s grand unveiling as well as a recognition ceremony for the country’s best and grandest events of 2012.

The event, entitled ‘Gala Awards 2013’ (where this time, the word “gala” is meant as the Filipino term for someone who likes to roam around a lot) acknowledged the efforts of the people in the event-organizing industry by awarding the top events that happened in the previous year. The criteria for the winning events was based on its consistency, distinct promotions, number of attendees (among others), and event awardees came from different categories such as Culture, Business, Health and Fitness, and those that can be considered under ‘Special Interest’.

The top events of 2012 that were recognized are the following:

The Gala Awards 2013 was hosted by Korean sexy model/ DJ, Jinri Park together with Model and athlete Rovilson Fernandez. Other notable stars also graced the event such as Marc Nelson, Doug Kramer and wife Cheska Garcia-Kramer, Patrick Garcia, and singers Jay R and Karylle.
