We dropped by at a Model Kit store that doubles as a Kit Building workshop to see what’s in store for us.

Hobbyland is located at the heart of the Kapitolyo area in Pasig, builders would have a hard time finding the place during their first times (we had that experience too). But once you managed to reach the venue, you will be welcomed to a kit builder’s paradise, where all the materials and equipment you need for building and painting are all available.

We managed to talk to the owner of Hobbyland, Mr. Victor Navasero to get more insights on how he formed the store, Victor was also a well known model kit builder, in fact he just won 1st place from the IPMS Ba Baguio Diorama category which was held this February.

He decided to open up the workshop to help encourage builders especially the newcomers to experience on building their kits with all the proper materials they’ll be needing. The builders can avail for the work desks and air brush rentals for a minimal fee, they can bring their own paint and kits or they can also purchase them from the workshop. Aside from the rentals, Hobbyland is also offering workshops to teach aspiring and even current kit builders the basics and advance levels of kit building, painting and detailing.

Victor also opened to us that the workshop is also a good place for model kit groups to gather and socialize during their annual gatherings, plus Hobbyland can offer foods and drinks for the groups for an additional fee.
