Gunpla may be the best selling product line of Bandai but they are also planning to release a new line of model kits.
The new model kit line-up was announced at the Toy Fair event last February. Sprukits is Bandai’s newest model kit lineup that features action figure-like articulation. A couple of kits were announced for their first wave line up, such as DC Comics characters to video game characters like Master Chief from Halo.
It will feature three variants of kits, Level 1 kits ($10) stands at around 4 inches and will consist of 30 to 40 pieces. This will take builders around an hour to complete the kit, though it will have less articulation similar to those 4-inch action figures. The lineup for the Level 1 kits will include the New 52 versions of Batman and Superman, Dark Knight Rises version of Batman and Achilles, Deqoo and Hunter from the LBX series.
The Level 2 kits ($20) will have around 70-90 pieces for the kit and has better detail and articulation compared to the Level 1 kits. These 5″ figures will have several characters in-line for the release such as The Man of Steel Superman, Arkham City Batman and Master Chief from the Halo series.
Level 3 kits ($55) will be the top-level kit from the three. Having the best articulation and detail from the three, it will also stand at around 8 inches and included in their line-up are Master Chief and Arkham City Batman.
The Sprukits are really aim for the Western consumers and those who are into comic book and western gaming characters. this isn’t new for Bandai as they also released the Figurise series (both in MG and the HG-like 6″ figures) which featured characters from the Kamen Rider series and anime like Tiger & Bunny, Dragon Ball Z and Accel World.
Expect for the Sprukits to be available around September of this year.
