An incredible amount of speed in a very small package, meet the Plextor M6e M.2 SSD

The M.2 standard used to be called the Next Generation Form Factor or NGFF, but whatever it is named, it will soon replace mSATA and smaller proprietary SSDs in many applications. The card format is narrower, and even in double-sided cards, thinner than mSATA, and it available in a range of lengths. Plextor’s M6e M.2 2280 PCIE Express Gen2X2 is an ultra-fast SSD. It uses the latest generation of components and a native PCI Express interface for extremely high performance, reading maximum sequential read/write speeds of 770/ 625MB/s. Random 4k read speeds reach 105K, and random write speeds attain 100K, IOPS. It is suitable for ultra-thin notebooks and motherboards supporting 2280 size( 80.8mm x22.0mm) PCIE M.2 SSDs. Packed into the light, extremely compact M6e M.2 PCIe is a multi-core Marvell PCIe 9183 controller, a fast onboard DDR DRAM cache, and high quality Toshiba Toggle NAND flash memory, with Plextor’s own in-house produced custom firmware providing stability and efficiency.

M.2 Form Factor Changing the Shape of Computers

An ultra-thin notebook with a Plextor M6e M.2 will have access to faster storage than any single desktop SATA SSD can provide. It is likely that this kind of performance will not only lead to a new forms of thin high-power notebooks, but result in greater sales for the next generation of NUC and equivalent ultra-compact desktop PCs.
