Yes, you read that sentence right.

An absolute surprise came to Tekken fans all over the globe as Bandai Namco reveals their “new” character to its upcoming update, Fated Retribution, the character being one of Street Fighter’s (yes, Street Fighter) titular characters, Akuma.

Becoming part of the storyline, as the man whose Heihachi’s wife begged to end Heihachi, and also possibly Kazuya’s life, to stop him, Akuma brings over some of his signature Street Fighter moves such as the Haduoken and the Shoryuken. The reveal also caused some fans to suspect that the Street Fighter and Tekken lore may possibly take place in one universe, with Tekken being the “future” of the Street Fighter timeline.

There is no information yet as to when the update will hit the Arcades, but Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is believed to come out earlier next year.
