NASA’s famous hackathon is now on Filipino shores.

Collaborate to make the world (and space) a better place in the upcoming Space Apps Challenge Philippines 2016, part of the annual 48-hour Space Apps Challenge hackathon by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Bought to Philippine shores through a collaboration with Mobile IT 4 Youth, the Space Apps Challenge Philippines invites everyone for 2 days of sharing “ideas and engage with open data to address real-world problems, on Earth and in space“. This year, NASA’s categories for its Space Apps Challenge will include creating solutions to mission related challenges in the fields of Aeronautics, the International Space Station, our Solar System & Beyond, Technology, and the much awaited future manned journey to Mars. The Space Apps Challenge is an annual brainstorming and development event held by NASA which started back in 2012, and held through physical locations all over the globe and as well as virtual channels (online), in hopes to invite people into a grand collaboration of ideas regarding Space Technology.

The Space Apps Challenge Philippines will be held this coming April 22, 2016 at the following locations:

  • PLDT Innolab, Mandaluyong City
  • San Manuel, Tarlac
  • ICTCNT Dagupan City, Pangasinan
  • MDICT San Fernando City, La Union
