Heroes of the Storm Summer Championship has named it’s victor. For the 2nd time in the Global Championship Circuit, Renovatio was crowned the Philippines’ top contender by winning the National Finals.
Last May 14,Renovatio solidified their presence in the Philippine esports scene by securing another National Championship victory in the Global Championship Circuit. Hosted at Coreon Gate Internet Café in Malate, Manila, the Heroes of the Storm Summer Championship National Finals stage was set for the best four teams to come out of theQualifiers to battle it out all day long. Hungry for victory, Renovatiowowed the crowd with a stellar win over top competitors Skyline in the eliminations, and Renovatio the Resistance in the grand finals. They win it all undefeated once again.
Together with Rnv-TR, Renovatio will once again face the toughest contenders Southeast Asia has to offer at the Summer Championship SEA Regionals. As the defending SEA champion, Renovatio has a lot to live up to. Will they make it back to the global stage in DreamHack Summer, Sweden? No matter the challenge, the whole nation is behind their representatives. Good luck!
After the Spring Global Championship, Filipino teams have been gearing up for the Summer season. Changing it up seems to have been the trend as many if not all of the Spring challengers reassessed and made their line-ups adjustments for Summer. Renovatio replaced their Zagara expert, MiseryProx, with then Renovatio 2’s JumpyLion. Rnv-TR’s line up now included Team Unknown’s captain,MiLovesPoro. These proved to be beneficial but of course did not assure victory with Skyline’s intact line-up making it into the top four though, in the end, came up short of the national crown.
Renovatio displayed their dominance by winning the finals with three sets to nil. In the very last match, though Rnv-TR took the newest hero in the Nexus, Tracer, to the battlefield and teaming her up with the assault of Li-Ming, she could not overcome the offensive line-up of the reigning national champion with Greymane, Tyrael and Illidan. Renovatio took a gamble claiming the boss in the middle of the game but it paid off as it pushed the bottom late giving them the opening they needed. Clearly rattled, Rnv-TR’s Malfurion picked Twilight Dream over Tranquillity resulting in lower heals. They paid for that dearly later in the game.
Fans were treated not only to an action filled day at the Summer Championship National Finals but also to a shower of awesome treats. Lucky attendees received Heroes of the Storm loot – t-shirts, lanyards, toys and of course a special oversized mouse pad – from the event raffle.
