The Green Goblin from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man will once again play another crazed character, this time from Netflix’s adaptation of the Anime Death Note.

Netflix’s live adaptation of the manga and anime hit Death Note is well underway and big names are being reeled in for its production to play as its iconic characters including the 2002 Spider-man star Willem Dafoe.

Known for his act as Green Goblin from the 2002 adaptation of Spider-Man, and being the voice of Gill from Finding Nemo, Dafoe will once again be part of a comic book, or more specifically, a Japanese comic, adaptaion this time by playing Ryuk the Shinigami from the Death Note series. In Death Note, Ryuk is the Shinigami who toyed around with humans by dropping the Death Note, a notebook that allows anyone to practically kill anyone just by writing their full name in it.

As Dafoe already played and voiced over the lunatic Green Goblin, he may not have problems giving life to Death Note's Ryuk.

In addition to Dafoe, Netflix has also brought in The Fault In Our Star‘s Nat Wolff as part of the main cast, playing as Light Turner, with Straight Outta Compton‘s Keith Stanfield handling the character reins for L. The Netflix Death Note adaptation is set for theatrical release this coming 2017.
