Ready for another Japanese Franchise to become Westernized?

The popular fantasy-themed, action adventure franchise Monster Hunter is heading for a Hollywood movie adaptation as revealed by Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of many Monster Hunter titles such as the Monster Hunter Freedom series.

In a brief statement during Monster Hunter’s stage event at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2016, Tsujimoto states that “there is a Hollywood movie adaptation of the main series” and is already in the works although he did not state as to which studio is handling the said adaptation. The main series of Monster Hunter games include 4 generations of titles made for the PlayStation, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo 3DS, WiiU and iOS platforms spanning 12 games with the latest being Monster Hunter Generations.

Monster Hunter adds to the long list of Japan-made video game titles that are adapted in Hollywood films which include Super Mario, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive.
