League of Legends Rampage 2017 in Manila Powered by PLDT and Smart

Garena Philippines, in partnership with leading digital services providers PLDT and SMART, and Lenovo Intel, brings you League of Legends Rampage 2017, now on its 6th year!

The biggest annual League of Legends event included fun activities and nonstop e-sports action as Rampage 2017 kicked off this July 30, 2017 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Highlights of the event included:

PGS Summer 2017 Finals

All roads led to Rampage 2017 as two of the country’s best League of Legends teams went head-to-head on what is bound to be the most action-packed Finals match of the Bacchus Pro Gaming Series 2017 Summer Split, for a lion’s share of the PHP 500,000 cash prize pool, as well as being the Philippine representatives in the Garena Premier League Summer 2017 and a shot at making it to the League of Legends World Championship 2017. With player salaries being introduced at the start of the 2017 Spring split in January, these two teams’ journey to the top of the country’s first fully professional league begins this June as the PGS 2017 Summer split starts.

Celebrity Showmatch

Just when you thought it couldn’t get more exciting, your idol celebrities returned to the Rampage stage and took on each other once more on the Rift in this year’s Celebrity Showmatch II!

Garena Philippines teamed up with Generation Hope this year to donate 100% of the proceeds from their Hope in a Bottle during Rampage 2017, which will be used to fund the building of public school classrooms. On top of this, an amount will be donated as well based on our celebrity idols’ performance during the Celebrity Showmatch II.

Rampage Play Zone & LAN Party

Guests enjoyed the Rampage festivities all while playing League in any of the 150+ PC units available at the newly added Rampage Play Zone found on the 2nd floor Function rooms at the World Trade Center together with your fellow Summoners. The best part is that the venue was powered by PLDT Home Fibr, which is perfect for multi-player and bandwidth-intensive games like League of Legends because it can go as fast as 1 Gbps for a seamless lag-free experience.

Cosplay Clash

“Rampage” isn’t rampage enough without the cosplayers bringing the League champions to life! To make sure the cosplayers are witnessed and to keep things hyped up for the fans, Rampage 2017 brought lots of cosplay activities for the notable cosplayers to be challenged and for fans to cheer on the best and the coolest when it comes to making the League of Legends champions a reality.

Other amazing things at this year’s Rampage included the Merchandise Caravan which satisfied all cravings for Rampage-exclusive goodies! Shirts, ballers and mousepads with a wide variety of cool and awesome designs were up for grabs for everyone. Guests also enjoyed awesome performance from local bands such as Rocksteddy and Mayonnaise!

Everyone was a winner in Rampage 2017 as thousands of premium goodies were given away for FREE via our event swag bags, surprise games and raffle draws all throughout the day. This year’s Rampage was powered by PLDT Home Fibr as part of its commitment to support the local e-sports and online gaming community through its strong and powerful connection. Just like previous local and international gaming events, PLDT Home Fibr provides access to world-class internet to enable gamers to level up their game and help put the country in the global gaming map. Its powerful connection continues to enrich the digital lifestyles of Filipinos with its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) nationwide rollout, targeting 4.4 million homes and more Fibr-Powered SmartCities by end-2017 so that more families can enjoy symmetrical internet speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
