Blizzard is Evolving Overwatch for Esports

Check out Blizzard’s plans on improving Overwatch for the esports scene for its upcoming Overwatch World Cup.

As Blizzcon is just around the corner, the Overwatch team have prepared to provide the best esports experience for their upcoming Overwatch World Cup. They updated their system to provide a better esports viewing during their tournaments and we could expect to see them in action at Blizzcon and in future events.

Below are the features that we can expect to see at the Overwatch World Cup broadcast:

  • Team uniforms/team color palettes
  • Top down interactive map
  • Third person smart camera
  • Kill feed replays
  • Automated tournament interface
  • Auto-pauses during disconnects

Meanwhile, as for the updates on their upcoming Overwatch Leauge, Blizzard has revealed six more teams that will be competing on their large-scale league.

  • Boston Uprising
  • Houston Outlaws
  • London Spitfire
  • New York Excelsior
  • Philadelphia Fusion
  • Seoul Dynasty

You can check out the revealed team logos as well as their team colors. The Overwatch League is expected to roll out its preseason this December with twelve teams from four countries competing following by the start of its first season on January of 2018.
