Mecha Fridays: Bandai’s Robot Romance Trilogy and February’s Gunpla lineup

Robot, robot, and more robot.

Bandai’s Tamashii Nations division has teased a pleasant surprise for the fans of the Super Robot genre as it seems that they are working on new additions to their Soul of Chogokin line dubbed the Soul of Chogokin Full Action, which includes some of the iconic mechas from the super robot genre, particularly from Tadao Nagahama’s Robot Romance Trilogy.

Seemingly “leaked” by online shop Tendou Toys, Tamashii Nations’ promotional materials for the upcoming C3 Hong Kong show images of the upcoming figures in action, and, just hours later, images of the actual figures go online just like the ones captured by the guys from Loopaza Mega Store.

As it turns out, it’s not just gonna be Voltes V, Combattler, and Daimos which are gonna be part of the new Soul of Chogokin FA line but also Daitarn 3 and Zambot 3.

According to various sources, the Soul of Chogokin Full Action line will be stand 180mm tall and will come with die cast parts and a good amount of articulation range. Tadao Nagahama’s super robot trilogy has become one of the most iconic shows in the super robot genre, with the most popular of them being Voltes V which was able to cement a strong legacy, with major cultural impact to its fans especially here in the Philippines.

Speaking of Bandai, of course our month of February will not be complete without a dose of new Gunpla kits and looks like the Universal Century is off to a dominant month with the majority of releases are kits from the UC line.
