And the new Pokemon game lets you connect to your Pokemon Go app to bring your Pokemons to the Switch game.

Nintendo has just announced a new Pokemon game that will be heading to the Nintendo Switch this year. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! will both be available on November 16, 2018. The game will focus on the Kanto region featuring the Gen 1 Pokemons (the original 151 Pokemons) and will a bit different from the standard Pokemon core games as this is more of a simplified approach to the Pokemon games.

The mechanics on catching Pokemons will be based on the throwing mechanics found in the Pokemon GO mobile game, it will also have co-op features where your friends can join the battle in a single Switch unit. Unfortunately in Pokemon Let’s Go, you won’t be battling wild pokemons, but you will still be able to fight against trainer NPCs around the region in the classic turn-based combat. Trading is possible in the game through multiple Switch units.

You can play the game in different control styles like using just one JoyCon or with the new PokeBall Plus accessory which can double as an accessory that lets you transfer one of your Pokemons and walk around with them in the real world, possibly a similar feature from the PokeWalkers from Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver where they can earn experience points for every step made. It is expected to priced at USD 49.99 as it is now priced in Japan for JPY 4980 (excluding tax).

There is also a feature where you can integrate your save data from Pokemon GO via Bluetooth. You can bring your Pokemons from GO where you have to re-capture them in a special area, however any Pokemons transferred from GO to Let’s Go cannot be sent back. You will be receiving a special all-new Pokemon when linking your Pokemon GO data.

For those who are wondering if this the announced Pokemon game last year, according to the developers at Game Freak, it is still under development and it is expected to launch in 2019.

So get ready to catch ’em all once again when Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee for the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018.
