Japan’s iconic all-girl Rock group is coming to the Philippines.
The Osaka-founded Japanese Rock group SCANDAL is finally heading to the Philippines, much to the delight of their Filipino fans, as part of their Honey album tour which also takes place in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Composed of 4 members, Haruna Ono, Mami Sasazaki, Tomomi Ogawa, and Rina Suzuki, all who have been with the band ever since its inception back in 20016, SCANDAL started out as one of your typical 4-piece high-school bands, playing street performances before signing up with an indie label, and ultimately landing a major deal 2 years after. Seeing a major rise in popularity after signing with Epic Records Japan, SCANDAL’s music made its way into Anime with their song Shōjo S being used as the opening theme for the then popular shōnen anime Bleach. The band will also then proceed to have more of their songs used in the soundtrack of other popular anime titles such as “Shunkan Sentimental” which served as the 4th ending song of Fullmetal: Alchemist: Brotherhood, and “Harukaze” which was the final opening theme for Bleach. Aside from Anime, SCANDAL has also had their songs used for video game titles like Star Ocean: The Second Story, which featured the song “Star” and Sengoku Basara 4 which had the song “Runners High”
Ever since their major stint with Epic Records Japan, SCANDAL has managed to produce 8 Studio albums, and went on to numerous live performances both within Japan and on the international stage with appearances on major Anime and Japanese pop culture conventions like the Anime Festival Asia.
This coming June 24, 2018, SCANDAL will first set foot on the SMX Convention Center concert stage for their Philippine leg of their 2018 Asia Tour.
