COSLANDIA 2019, the ultimate Japanese culture (J Culture) Festival, is set to take place at SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City on November 1, 2 and 3, and offers three-full days jam-packed with the latest of J Culture in the area of idols, cosplay, anime, games, e-sports, and more.

After its last year’s success, Coslandia 2019, now in partnership with Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, World Cosplay Summit (WCS) Philippines, and Pop Culture Hiroshima (PCH) Philippines, will showcase a wide array of exciting activities and entertainment like mini-concerts, special appearances, cosplay contests, anime live screenings, fun booths and exclusive merchandise.

International and local J-pop idols will be kicking off the event through live performances; the stage will be graced by 1-Girls, Fairytale, Gracorex, Amatsusora, Samero, Tomoka, Hazuki Tsubasa, Fil-Jap artist Hirotoshi “TJ” Maeda, Pastel Mix of WCS Philippines from Davao, and of course, the country’s very own MNL48, the international sister group of Japan’s famous AKB48, who will be performing the Coslandia theme song. With that, the Philippine idol group will also be launching their first card game app ‘Janken Senbatsu’ during the three-day festival.

One of the event highlights will be the cosplay competitions. This year, WCS Philippines will hold a solo cosplay competition with themes “Armor and Cloth” and “Hero and Heroine”, where participants will have a chance to transform themselves into various characters from anime, manga, films, and games. Besides that, kids can also participate in their Halloween costume contest and trick-or-treat on the first day of the festival. Moreover, they will also be bringing guest cosplayers from WCS Team Philippines to share their talents and expertise in cosplaying.

Likewise, PCH Philippines will also bring guest cosplayers from PCH Team Philippines. They will also take its first NCR Qualifiers to Coslandia where winning cosplayers will have the opportunity to represent the Philippines and compete in the finals for the April 2020 annual Pop Culture Hiroshima, one of Japan’s biggest pop culture conventions and cosplay competitions. In relation to that, another guest and a solo Japanese cosplayer, Miku 16 is also expected to be there to show the crowd her skits and skills.

And with the upcoming release of live-action film adaptation Seikimatsu Blue which is based on the popular fantasy-supernatural manga series of the same name, fans will have the opportunity to get to know the people behind the production; namely, manga writer Shintaro Hirota, film director Tetsuya Hashi, and MNL48 members Abby, Coleen, Brei, and Kay who were part of the film cast.

Otakus and movie junkies can also enjoy the free anime movie screenings provided by two of Coslandia’s participating sponsors. Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films will be screening fan-favorite animated films like Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name”, Yoshitoki Ōima’s “A Silent Voice”, and Naoshi Arakawa’s “Your Lie in April” while Telesuccess Productions Inc. will be showing Go Nagai’s “Mazinger Z: Infinity” and will also be setting up life-sized Voltes V figures for photo ops.

Also, more participating sponsors will be livening up the party even more as Creative Nation Academy, a premier Adobe training center in the Philippines, will be giving anime enthusiasts and aspiring manga artists an introduction to Adobe Creative Suite and the basics of animation, wherein fans will surely enjoy and have fun learning.

On the other hand, guests can also take advantage of the RapidShots360° Video Booth where they can get an ‘Instagrammable’ 360° detailed shot of their work and costumes. Furthermore, with Coslandia’s silver sponsor Brother Philippines, exclusive merchandise items are to be made available in the event’s merchandise booths.

Apart from participating in different competitions and watching anime movie screenings, festival visitors can also catch a sight of the fashion show Coslandia Girls Collection, listen to live manga readings and meet & greet their favorite anime characters such as Pikachu, Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel. The venue will have exciting booths and games as well for guests to enjoy, and the popular e-sports tournaments will also be run this year.

Coslandia, organized by Hallohallo Entertainment Inc. (HHE), will also be joined by Monster RX 93.1 as the event’s official radio station, along with official media partners INQ Pop! and Inquirer.net, The Philippine Star, Rappler, Philippine Primer, Mellow 94.7, Reimaru Files, OtakuPlay PH, O’Taco Bites, FlipGeeks, Inside Manila, Anime PH, UnGeek, Back2Gaming, Primer,　Anime Pilipinas, PopLife and YuneOh.
