Bandai Spirits reveals a P Bandai exclusive RX-78F00 model kit based on the giant Gundam Factory Yokohama statue.

There is no stopping Bandai once more as they bring out a new variant for the legendary Gundam mobile suit. Based from the same life-sized Gundam in Yokohama (which is called RX-78F00), Bandai Spirits has revealed the P Bandai RX-78F00 model kit. The Gundam will come in two variants; the 1/144 and the No Grade 1/100 where the 1/144 variant comes with the Gundam Dock base while the 1/100 variant comes with a stand. These model kits will feature the color scheme from the new design of the RX-78F00 that features two tones for the blue torso and gray parts on the limbs.

Since early 2020, Bandai has continued the construction of a life-sized 18 meter RX-78F00 Gundam at the new Gundam Factory in Yokohama. Despite the pandemic that has affected the entire world, constructions were still on schedule and a recent progress report livestream has revealed that it is already complete. Unlike the previous life-sized RX-78-2 Gundam that was erected in 2010 and the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam in 2017, this new version actually moves as it can also do walking animation on its base platform.

The GFY Gundam was originally slated for a Special Experience preview last July as part of the attraction for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo but was eventually canceled and its grand opening postponed from its October schedule that will be moved to a later date in 2020.

The RX-78F00 Gundam is priced at JPY 2,750 for the 1/144 and JPY 3980 for the 1/100 and will be available on September 2020. You can get these exclusive model kits from the P Bandai website, though you may try contacting your favorite online hobby stores for possible preorders.
